New Generation of Build Tools

After a couple of years where one could think the build tools settle down around Webpack, Rollup, or Parcel now we are going into another wave. Tools such as Vite, ESbuild or Snowpack are new rising stars with a great focus on bundle times. They also fill a missing middle ground between the writing conveniences of writing a single JavaScript file and the need to download hundreds of megabytes of dependencies before you’ve written a line of your own code.
